Project Summary: Kellogg Creek Channel Capacity Improvement In Discovery Bay

Discovery Bay is a community of large homes along man made bays and channels in the San Joaquin Delta. One of the natural water features that feeds the chain of man-made bays is Kellogg Creek. Reclamation District 800 performed a dredging project to deepen the creek channel, improving its water quality and flood carrying capacity.

Members of the Redefined Horizons Team provided surveying services to the civil engineers designing and managing the dredging project. The tasks performed by our team members as part of the scope-of-services for the project included:

  • Topographic surveys of the land adjacent to the creek.
  • Hydrographic surveys of the creek channel before and after the dredging.
  • Boundary surveys to determine the limits of private upland ownership and the creek parcels.
